The course will be conducted through lectures (4 ECTS), of theoretical and practical content, and guided tours in farms with social agriculture projects (2 ECTS).
Knowledge.
The course enables students to acquire the fundamental knowledge about the contexts and subjects of local welfare policies, social agriculture projects, the activation of territorial network paths for social inclusion activities in the different social sectors of agriculture.
Applying knowledge and understanding.
The course has as its main educational objective the development of the student's ability to understand and apply the main tools of analysis of welfare policies, the models of social planning and the activation of territorial networks in the field of social agriculture.
Cross-expertise.
Practical applications, comparisons and debates, which will take place during the course, will enable students to enhance their independent judgment to manage projects of social inclusion and to communicate clearly and exhaustively notions, ideas, problems and solutions to interlocutors of local contexts.
The course aims to deepen the models of participatory welfare and social planning, highlighting the different dimensions: methodological, cognitive, values, relational and organizational. Particular attention will be drawn to the planning stages, the main community development processes, the research methodologies for the activation of social networks and territorial partnerships, the operational tools for the implementation of paths of cooperation and the coordination of the subjects of the territory.
The policies for social agriculture, the relevant legislation and the subjects involved will be presented during the course; specific attention will be given to the social cooperatives and the farms engaged in social agriculture.
The project contents related to the activation of processes and social inclusion initiatives and wellbeing, particularly in some areas of educational and social and health services, will be deepened: agri-kindergartens, agri-nests and childcare centers, the rehabilitation of people with disabilities and with addiction problems, therapies assisted with animals and with agricultural products farm, services for the work reintegration of disadvantaged people and in difficult conditions.
Learning evaluation methods
Oral discussion on subjects listed in the teaching program and on the aspects observed and discussed during guided tours to farms with projects of social agriculture.
Learning evaluation criteria
In the oral examination students must demonstrate that they have acquired a solid understanding of the key issues relating to the welfare participatory processes. They will also have to demonstrate that they understand how to use the main planning tools in the context of social agriculture.
Learning measurement criteria
The final grade is attributed in thirtieths. Successful completion of the examination will lead to grades ranging from 18 to 30 “cum laude”.
Final mark allocation criteria
The oral examination consists of one chosen subject and four questions concerning the subjects; each answer will be quantified in the range 0 - 6. The degree of 30 “cum laude” is attributed when the student demonstrates complete mastery of the subject.
